Between the three of them, there is not a county in the state without at least one species. In any location, the basic habitat needs for food, cover, and water must be met or there will be no quail. The relative size of the population will then depend upon the amount, distribution, and quality of these needed resources. At Quail Unlimited Riverside we do our best to meet the needs of all quail ! Quail Unlimited was established in 1981 to battle the problem of dwindling quail and wildlife habitat. Quail Unlimited has become the only national, nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the management and conservation of America's wild quail as a valuable and renewable resource. This chapter's primary focus is habitat on Bureau of Land Management land and in our National Forest, located in Southern California.
